Volunteer for the Office of Senior Services
Meals on Wheels
About Meals on Wheels | Donate to Meals on Wheels
Many people know Meals on Wheels as a food delivery service for the home-bound. However, what they don't know is how impactful the moments of contact between the volunteer and the recipient can be. For many seniors, the volunteer who drops off their meal is the only person they will see that day. The delivery isn't just about nourishment, it's about a valuable moment of human connection. And in turn, it's those moments of human connection that make volunteering so rewarding. Sign up by completing our online application.

Friendly Caller
During these times of disconnectedness and social isolation, who couldn't use a friend calling to say hello! The Office of Senior Services is kick-starting a new program: Friendly Caller. In-office volunteers are reaching out over the phone to connect with Macomb County Seniors interested in a friendly social conversation. It's a no-pressure, informal social call that can last from 10 to 30 minutes depending on interest and conversational flow. Think of it as an old-fashioned front porch visit...over the phone!
Volunteer Duties
- Complete new volunteer orientation
- Volunteer for at least two shifts per month
- Morning (9 AM - 12 PM) and afternoon (1 PM - 4 PM) shifts are available Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Calls to Seniors are made from our office at 21885 Dunham Road, Suite 6, Clinton Township MI 48036
Volunteers Must
- Have strong phone and conversational skills
- Pass a background check
